Looking for a 6v6 DotA Game?

Channel 6v6DotA** January 4, 2010
We now have a GHost++ bot hosting 6v6 DotA games on USEast, USWest, and Europe Battle.net realms. If you are looking to play a game of 6v6 DotA but you don't want to host the map yourself, then you can join channel "6v6DotA" on any of the three realms to find out when the next game is being hosted.

If you happen to be running a bot of your own, then feel free to move your bot to this channel to announce your new games being hosted as well.

** January 10, 2010
If the bot is not in the channel, then that means it is currently hosting a game. To find out what game is being hosted, type /whereis BotName in Battle.net.

Here are a list of bots that are currently hosting 6v6 DotA games.

DotA Christmas Release

A few days ago, IceFrog released the 6.65 version of DotA. I've been a little busy due to the holidays, but it looks like I'll get some time to work on it soon and we should be able to see a 6v6 version on the 30th of this month.

In the meantime the 6v6 DotA bot will stop hosting the old version, and will continue again once the 6.65 6v6 version is finished.

Happy Holidays!

Spreading the Word

Battle.net Game ListRecently, a visitor of this website has donated a Ghost++ Bot to use with the latest 6v6 DotA map. Right now it's running a "Download Only" game with fast download speeds on three different Battle.net realms (east, west, and europe). This is an attempt to spread the word, and ensure that many people have the map pre-downloaded and ready to play.

This means that you should now be able to host a 6v6 DotA game on Battle.net and have plenty of people to join.

A big thanks to Fligglebleh for supplying the 6v6 DotA community with this service.

v6.60 Info and Offline Bot

Lately I've been busy with real life commitments, but after checking out IceFrog's Blog, it looks like there are going to be a lot of new features for v6.60, including gamemodes. So this is just a heads up to say that a 6v6 version won't come out as fast as the previous releases (which were usually within hours of an official release) because of all the changes that I'll need to look over.

Regarding the Game Hosting Bot that I've been running... Blizzard has changed a few things on Battle.net that no longer allow these types of bots to run. It's possible that the creators of GHost++ will be able to get it working again, but I think that's the end of it from my side unless I can find time down the road to keep it up and running.

6v6 DotA Game Hosting

It can be a little irritating trying to host your own 6v6 DotA game on Battle.net. Mainly because people need to download the map or they aren't joining fast enough. I've solved that problem by starting up a game hosting bot, and you might have already played few games with it.

If you're on Azeroth, Lordaeron, or Northrend, then you can join these games too. In all three of these realms, you can join channel 6v6-DotA in Battle.net to find out when the bot will be hosting the next game.

As of now, the bot doesn't keep track of stats very well and they are deleted every so often as I do testing. I'm working on a feature that can keep track of stats for every game (K/D/A etc) which could lead to some other pretty cool features down the road.
